Your turn: Will the Seahawks make the playoffs?
Comments from Wednesday's poll, asking whether Seattle will make the playoffs.
I asked and 154 of you answered, with 19 out of 20 saying that the Seahawks will not — in fact — make the playoffs.
Here are a sampling of the comments. I have added nicknames for the otherwise anonymous comments.
In the future, feel free to sign your comments if you’d like attribution. Or you can let me make up goofy nicknames:
“They have 💩 for an OL and Geno will probably get injured in the next four games and be out the rest of the year.”
“I think they’ll come up short this year but going forward there is real hope that the team will improve while changing out players with some who can adapt to the scheme thay want to use.”
“It was never a realistic goal (making the playoffs). First-year coach with no head-coaching experience working with a new group of players and coaches. Hawks were not that good last year and they only added a few players worth anything to that team. This is a season in transition so next year will be Macdonald's real big test. I expect about six or wins this season as I have since Day One of this iteration of the Hawks.”
“On offense, the line isn’t talented. On defense neither the line nor the LBs are good. Overall, there are too many deficits on this roster to achieve playoff contention.”
“We are concentrating on building the team AND the coaching staff. This is the priority this year-so we’ll win if we can but no playoffs this year”
“Tank it for a good draft position. Go get some beef on the O line”
“Why don’t they run the ball more? With the weaknesses they have on defense I would think they would want to attempt to control time of possession and not try and boat race every team.”
“There’s no team there. There are pieces of a team, a potential team, but they are not there yet. And it can’t be fixed at the halfway point of the season. I vote to go for the draft picks!”
“No, and that’s OK, this year only. Load up on run blockers and run stuffers and maybe a QB in rounds 2-5. ”
